Order FAQ's
- Place your order through the shop on this website.
- Checkout in the usual way, making sure all your information is correct. Clicking click and collect pick up.
- You will not be asked for payment on-line. This helps us to keep your finance details secure. We will never store them in our systems.
- Ensure you fill out all the fields accurately and make sure you enter a date for click and collect in the field marked ‘Notes’.
- Please make sure you arrive for collection on the date specified in the field marked ‘Notes’. This will help to make sure your order is processed ready for you.
- If for any reason you have an item which is out of stock at the time of ordering we will switch for another like for like item to the same value or more.

- Ensure you fill out all the fields accurately and make sure you enter an event date that you require your order delivered by in the field marked ‘Notes’.
- We will contact you as soon as we can to confirm your order and arrange payment.
- We will agree a provisional delivery date with you. Please consider when your event is and that they may be delivered close to the desired date or up to a week before depending on delivery capacity during our peak time. Most deliveries for Bonfire Night will be made during late October. Deliveries for New Year’s Eve will be made after Christmas. If for any reason you require special attention outside of these please call us and speak to us directly.
- Someone over 18 years of age will have to be in when we deliver your fireworks and sign for them.
- We cannot leave fireworks at another address, or with anyone who is under 18 of age.
- If you are not in when we attempt to deliver your fireworks, we will have to charge you for a redelivery attempt.
- Legally you have to be 18 years or older to purchase and use fireworks
- We use challenge 25 when delivering
- You will be required to show a valid form of Identification (passport, driving license etc)
Fireworks FAQ's
Always follow the firework code
- Stand well back
- Keep pets indoors
- Keep fireworks in a closed box
- Only buy fireworks that are CE-marked
- Light at arm’s length, using a taper
- Follow the instructions on each firework
- Never give sparklers to a child under five
- Don’t drink alcohol if setting off fireworks
- Always supervise children around fireworks
- Direct.gov has more guidance on keeping kids safe during fireworks
- Light sparklers one at a time and wear gloves
- Did you know that sparklers get five times hotter than cooking oil? They should never be given to a child under five.
- Never put fireworks in your pocket or throw them
- Never go near a firework that has been lit if it hasn’t gone off it could still explode
- Where to buy fireworksDon’t cut corners just to save a few pounds. Always buy fireworks from a reputable shop like Chesterfield Fireworks.
- Don’t buy fireworks from anywhere you’re not sure about, such as the back of a white van or market stall.
What fireworks to buy
- – There are different categories of fireworks. Members of the public can buy and set off fireworks that form under Cat 1 to 3. These are fireworks that can be used indoors, in your garden or at a display. Always read the instructions carefully. Ensure the fireworks you buy are suitable for the place of intended use.
- – Some fireworks can only be bought and used by fireworks professionals. These include aerial shells, fireworks with erratic flight, some Cat 2 and 3 fireworks which exceed certain size and weight limits and all Category 4 fireworks.
When setting up and firing your fireworks
- Only one person should be in charge of fireworks. If that’s you, then take all the necessary precautions. Read the instructions in daylight and don’t drink any alcohol until they’ve all been discharged. Make your preparations in advance and in daylight or with a torch (never a naked flame). On the night you will need…
- a torch
- fire extinguisher or some buckets of water
- eye protection and gloves
- a bucket of soft earth to put fireworks in
- suitable supports and launchers if you plan to be setting off Catherine Wheels or Rockets
Animals
You should take precautions to protect your pets during the times of the year when fireworks are likely to be set off.
Fireworks and the law
There are laws about when fireworks can be sold and to whom and when fireworks can be set off.
- If you are under 18 years of age you are prohibited from purchasing fireworks
- It is against the law to have fireworks in public places
- It is against the law to set off or throw fireworks in the street or other public places
- It is against the law to set off fireworks between 11.00 pm and 7.00 am except during certain celebrations (more info below)
If found guilty by the courts, you could be fined up to £5,000 and imprisoned for up to three months. You may also be liable for an on-the-spot fine of £80.
When you can use fireworks during the majority of celebrations during the below periods;
Any day from 07:00 am until 11:00 pm
until midnight on Bonfire Night
until 01.00 am on New Year’s Eve, Diwali and Chinese New Year
